Jigging rods!
I find myself every year looking at the newest rods on the market. From medium light to medium heavy from one brand to another not one feels the same! The last several years I have been fishing with Mags Custom rods, primarily the 5 10” and 6 2” spinning reel. For the performance and the price, I think there hard to beat. Recently I have been using a Mags spiral wrapped bait cast rod and let me tell you, it’s quickly becoming my favorite. From the action to the balance of the rod in hand, every detail was thought out. The ease of adjusting depth with a flipping switch is also very convenient. A spiral wrapped rod is also new to me, but after jigging with one it’s the only way to fly. Spiral wrapped rods are nothing new in the rod building world just something you don’t typically see locally on the river. Having a bait cast rod spiral wrapped allows the line to lay proper in the eyes, you don’t get the extra pull/twisting feeling in the wrist/grip every time you jig. Like a traditional eyed bait cast rod feels. Details matter when you're counting on feeling even the slightest of bites. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
